The Los Angeles Young Leadership Committee (YLC) is a group of professionals ages 21+ who volunteer their time and talent to raise money to improve the lives of people with T1D. From lawyers and health advocates to filmmakers and fitness experts, our members make an impact on the lives of the 150,000 people in Los Angeles living with T1D by increasing awareness of this chronic disease and building a strong support network for the many young adults facing their diagnosis alone.
Kiss to Cure is JDRF Los Angeles YLC's signature philanthropic event. Masked and fancy guests dance the night away in celebration and support of JDRF's funding of life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat type 1 diabetes and its complications. Over 200 people impacted by type 1 diabetes attend Kiss to Cure each year.
When park your car in one of 80 free parking spots, you're immediately transported back in time to early Hollywood while walking up the steps of the historic American Legion Post 43. The live music enchants you downstairs to the Grand Ballroom, where you're handed a free Tito's Vodka drink to wash down the savory heavy apps and the comedic musings of Master of Ceremonies Dave Holmes. You'll be torn by the DJ coaxing you to the dance floor dance when time is ticking away on the bountiful offerings of the silent auction—but fear not, as you will have plenty of time for both and more until the clock strikes midnight.
